Getting Cheap Traffic - Think Again

A month ago Jonathan Leger post an article about “Avoiding the snare of trash traffic”, and i was fascinated by it that i did my own testing. It’s true that you could get thousand or even millons visitor to your site. But the question is, is it worth it. With just 45 bucks or less you can get your site swarm with visitor. How this is done, literaly the so called “Traffic Broker” will line up all the links that you submit to them into a system called “Autosurf”.

What will happened then is the visitor will get commission by just visiting you site with a certain amount duration of time, (usually 8 second). Apparently, this is useless to us marketers as the visitors are clearly no targeted. They’re only care about the commission. Since the system will auto rotate the sites, some might not even bother to see the website.

stat

The above stat i did with 2 different traffic broker with 3 different sites of mine. Clearly you can see i’m getting hundreds of raw clicks, which means either it’s the same visitor visits my sites or there’s a bunch of auto surfers coming from the same IP network address.

As i said, the auto surf systems usually sets up to 8 second before continuing other sites, you can see the Level 1 stat are the only level that has number people stayed in my site, even so there’s about 68.3% my visitor stayed for 8 second, i’ve lost my other 29.7%. Hmm, there’s 5% on Level 2 and 3, probably one of the visitor got his pc hung up or maybe he’s really interested, but which ever is it, i’m still not getting any sales (Yes, these 3 site are sale page, selling products)

As a conclusion, i think these so called cheap traffic are not worth it. Unless if you try to test to proof something or simply just want to impress people that you’re getting hits to your sites.

Where To Find Keywords That Sells

Looking for keywords that has high search count is easy, obviously you can use any keyword tool. But hunting for keywords that markets hunger for is another story. What us marketer want is a profitable keywords. Keywords that make sales. In order to look for the untapped profitable keywords, i would go to these sites:

and look for keywords that market are hungry for. Normally would i choose between 5 to 10 profitable keywords. Then, i use keyword tools to broaden up the keywords. And look for long tail keywords. Why long tail, because i know a single keyword is going to be very tough to compete, especially if i’m using PPC. I also use selected keywords from above site with Bum Marketing. And it works wonders.

You see, some non-profitable keywords have high search volume and might end up top place in ranking. For example “Paris Hilton” keywords has tens thousand search per day, though you can’t use it to make sales, unless of course if you sells Paris Hilton accessories.

P/S: I’m highly advice you to bookmark the above sites, you’ll never know when you need them.

Increase Your Visitor And Google PR

In this post i will show you a simple hack on how to look for a high PR or high traffic blog for you to post a comment. Now, some of marketers will not agree by getting high Google PR will guaranty traffic to your site, but then i’ll let you be the judge.

A couple weeks ago Google have upgrade their Page Rank system, which let them allow to detect people who buys, sells and trade links and probably other stuff that avoids people cheating their PR sites.

One of ways to get your site link up in a high rank blog or site regardless their PR’s is too look out for .gov or .edu domains. Domains with .gov and .adu are most likely get into Google’s first priority, as these domain are the most trusted domains compared to .com, .org, .net and any other second level domains. So how do you search .gov and .edu blogs, the trick is to use an attribute in Google search, just key in these attribute:

site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment” “keywords

Where “keywords” are the key phrases that you want to search for. And change .edu to .gov if you want to search .gov blogs. Now, what about the no-follow tags. The post might be useless if there’s a “no-follow” tags in their blog. The only way to avoid sites with “no-follow” tags is to manually search them. Here a simple step:

  1. Right click on the page you want to post and click View Page Source.
  2. The page source will appear, press “Ctrl+F” a search box will appear at the bottom frame.
  3. type “no-follow” or ” nofollow”, and if there’s any, don’t bother post on that blog, well unless if want to.

The bottom line with this hack is getting an .edu or .org with no “no-follow” will get your site flooded with traffic or likely increases you Google PR. I have tried this trick with one of my site for 2 month, and i can say it has return a decent traffic. But again i’ll let you be the judge and try it your self. If you have any questions or feel skeptical with this hacks post, i really like to hear your comments.

P/S: Please Be Warned This Hack Is Not Intend For SPAMMING. Use it Ethically.

Make Your WordPress Duplicate Content Safe

Last week i had my WordPress gone hare-wire. It was i nightmare when i saw my blog content is being duplicated. Not by other bloggers but by my WP blog itself. You see, when google sees your site has duplicate content, most likely your blog might get penalized by not being index in their search engine for selected keywords or phrases. And this happened when i realized that my blog aren’t performing quite well with optimized keywords even though i did major SEO tweaking.

So i check my content with copyscape, and there was no copy cats copying my stuff. Then i typed “site:www.romicozone.com” in google and wallah, it showed up the following top 3 result:

  1. www.romicozone.com
  2. www.romicozone.com/blog
  3. romicozone.com

All these URL redirect to my index home page which mean these three link showed up the same page. And Google sees my blog content has duplicated content. But then i manage solve problem number 1 and 2 by following Wordpress Guide. For the number 3 problem, i had to somehow redirect the romicozone.com to the conical URL which is www.romicozone.com - see the www deferent. The easiest way to avoid this is create a .htaccess with the following code:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.yoursite\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yoursite.com/$1 [R,L]
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

Then upload the .htaccess file to where your Wordpress index.php folder is. It took me about 30 minute to figured it out and 5 minute to solve it. After 2 or 3 days (to make sure Google spidered my site) i check again my site in Google and both www.romicozone.com/blog and romicozone.com are gone.

So go ahead check your WordPress blog with “site:www.yoursite.com” in Google, and see what showed up. And follow above steps if you sufered duplicate content by your own blog.

Using Hittail to Optimize Keywords or Phrases

Here’s a quick way you could optimized your keywords density within your site. By using Hittail I can see which keywords are working and which are not. HitTail reveals in real-time the least utilized, most promising keywords hidden in the Long Tail of your natural search results. Hittail will present these terms to you as suggestions that when acted on can boost the natural search results of your site. First go to Hittail website and register, only one website is allowed for each register. So if you want to use this tool more than one site then just simply register for each for your site. Same emails are allowed, so no worries there.

Below is one of the result hittail captures in google search engine (autoresponder reviews 2007). It sees any particular keywords or phrases visitor searchers in google. And I see it as a profitable keywords and it give me free traffic (first page of google). I will definitely optimize the keyword by using any seo tools (But this is a blog, and normally bloggers don’t edit their previous posts, so do I). Most people would just optimize the density of desire keywords or phrases in their sites.

keywords, hittail

By the time i wrote this post, the result for my - autoresponder reviews 2007 phares in google first page, i have manage to get in number 6 out of 600 000 ranking. Ain’t that’s fellin’ good.

KEYWORDS DENSITY

Instant PR-ed domain names.

In my last post, i have talk about what are Page Rank and why they are important. It also show’s how’s reciprocal links are usefull in order to get your site or blog popularity increase. In this post i will teach step-by-step hoe to get a domain name with ranked PR.

When i’m talking instant rank, don’t expect getting a 5 PR. By using this method, you will get an average 3 PR, if above than that, you’re a lucky!. But sure enough you’ll get a ranked domain. Though there’s two draw back using this method that i must point first.

  • You won’t get the exect domain name the way you want. Because you’re about to use a used domain names.
  • Time consuming. Since not all expired domain names are well PR-ed. Out of thaousands of expired domains, only 5% - 7% are well rank. So there’s going to be a lot of work. But it’s worth of it.

Before we start, go get yourself a free copy of Google Page Rank Checker v 1.0 software, then go to Pool website and click the ‘download full list’ link. As you can see it stated there ‘full list of domains deleting in the next 5 days!’, though some of the domain are already expired by the time you download the list. Once you have both of the items, proceed the folowing steps:

  1. Unzip the PoolDeletingDomainsList.zip, inside the folder there’s a PoolDeletingDomainsList.txt which is in text format.
  2. Change the text format into excel format by simply change .txt to .csv.
  3. Now open the using Microsoft Excel. The domain names and the expirering date are now saperated.
  4. Select and copy up to about the 500 of domain names. More than that, Google Page Rank Checker software might crash.
  5. Create a new text file and paste the domin name list. Name the file domain.txt.
  6. Fire up the Google Page Rank Checker. Click import, search the domain.txt and click open.
  7. Finally click Check button and wait untill the software finish finalizing the domain names.
  8. When it’s done, you can check the page rank for every each of the 500 domain name.
  9. If you lucky enough, you’ll find the right domain name with a PR. If that’s not the case, the repeat 3 untill step 7 with the next 500 domain names, untill you find the right names with PR.

There you go. I have cleared up everything. Please feel free to ask any questions or add suggestion that i have missed.
